Admissions
Policy:
The Kent Community Nursery School does not discriminate on the basis of
race, color, national, and ethnic origin in administration of its
educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan
programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
To be eligible, a child must have reached his or her third or fourth
birthday by December 31 of the current year. A child turning
three after December 31st is eligible to join the three-year-old class
on his or her birthday if space is available. Children who are still
completing toilet training are still eligible for admission.
The number of children in the three-year-old group is limited to
fourteen, with a ratio of 7:1. The four-year old-group is
limited to sixteen, with a teacher to student ratio of 8:1.
Applications for admission, accompanied by a non-refundable $45
application fee, are accepted beginning with the Spring Open
House, held in early April at the school. Priority
is given first to currently enrolled students
and children of staff; second to siblings of current and former KCNS
students and children of alumni; and third to Kent residents. In the
event that the school receives more applications than openings,
admission will be decided by lottery once priority applications have
been processed. All priority ends April 30th. A wait list will be
maintained if required. Acceptance letters are emailed during the first
week of
May.
